Chief Diversity Officer, United Way Worldwide
Ms. Foster works to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and partners for United Way. She also leads United Way Worldwide’s diversity and inclusion efforts.
A career United Way professional, she has worked in Jacksonville, Florida, Washington, D.C. and as President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Pennsylvania.
Her experience in diversity crosses industry boundaries and sectors. Among her contributions to the field of diversity and inclusion are as: Founder and Chair of the D&I Council for National Human Services Assembly, a membership organization representing 50+ national non profit organizations, representing United Way as a national partner of the Public Service Diversity Initiative of the National Urban Fellows Program and as a member of the Diversity Corporate Advisory Partner Group for University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She has written an article for BoardSource Magazine on diversity and volunteer boards, and served in leadership roles in planning for the annual Chief Diversity Officer Forum held by the Johnnetta B. Cole Institute. Ms Foster has presented on topics related to diversity and inclusion for organizations such as the Association of Junior Leagues International, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), National Coalition of 100 Black Women, BoardSource and World Trade Center Institute in Maryland.
Ms. Foster holds a dual degree (BS) in Education and Human Development (Syracuse University) and an MSW (Temple University). S serves on the Board of Trustees at Bennett College (Greensboro, NC), as a career coach for the National Urban Fellows; as a national board and executive committee member, National Council of Negro Women (NCNW); and member and Immediate Past President, Northern Virginia Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Ms. Foster is a wife, mother of two grown children, and a grandmother.
